Key Features of DC BIOCHIP MBBR Media

1. Ultra-High Specific Surface Area

With a specific surface area as high as 5,500 m²/m³, it provides more attachment space for microorganisms, thereby increasing the system’s effective biomass.

2. Stable Biofilm Formation

The flake-like structure promotes biofilm formation and retention, contributing to long-term, stable system operation.

3. High Mass Transfer Efficiency

Studies and biofilm mass transfer principles indicate that a biofilm thickness of around 0.5 mm is often considered an optimal range for effective oxygen and substrate transfer. At this thickness, oxygen and pollutants can penetrate into the biofilm more efficiently, helping microorganisms maintain high biological activity.
DC BIOCHIP provides excellent attachment surfaces on both sides of the carrier, allowing biofilm to grow within a more controlled and efficient thickness range. This helps oxygen and nutrients reach different biofilm layers, ensuring that microorganisms inside the biofilm remain active.

4. Excelente efecto de fluidización

The density of DC BIOCHIP before biofilm formation is 0.95±0.02 g/cm³, which is close to the density of water. Under aeration or water flow, the media remains well suspended and fluidized in the reaction tank and does not settle easily. Adequate fluidization enhances contact between the media, wastewater, dissolved oxygen, and microorganisms, thereby improving biological treatment efficiency and ensuring stable system operation.

5. New PE Material

Made from White Virgin PE, it is corrosion- and aging-resistant, making it suitable for long-term use in wastewater treatment and recirculating aquaculture systems.
